• Drafting responses to CBP informed compliance publication (ICP) letters and accompanying letters, indicating increased CBP scrutiny of imported goods and the possibility of a comprehensive CBP audit.

 

• Legal support for the management of external auditors performing internal audits for customs compliance, in preparation for a comprehensive CBP audit.

 

• Drafting requests for ruling letters pursuant to CBP Regulations (19 C.F.R. Part 177) regarding particular transactions.

 

• Use of the eRulings Template to request a National Commodity Specialist Division (NCSD) ruling regarding origin, package marking, tariff classifications, US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and applicability of trade programs.
